Metals occupies most of the periodic table. They are solid in normal condition with the exception of Mercury, which is liquid. There are many characteristics in metals. Firstly, they have shiny surfaces and they are good conductors of electricity and heat. Secondly, they are ductile, which can be drawn into wires. Thirdly, they are malleable, which can be easily hammered into very thin sheets. Besides, metals have high melting and boiling points, which Tungsten has the highest melting point among all metals with the extremely high temperature of 3,422 °C.
